Need help with chain rule ,can you show the steps to solve?


  • I dont know where to start !!!!
    it says f(x) = tanx
    whats f ' (x), f ' ' (x), f ' ' ' (x), f ' ' ' '(x)

    i know f ' (x) = sec^2 x ( found it in the book)
    and f '' (x) =2(sec(x))(sec(x))(tan(x)) friend told me
    but i still dont understand how these were solved or how to solve for 3rd and 4th derivatives
    can you PLEASE SHOW ME THE STEPS TO SOLVING ALL THESE AND IF POSSIBLE EXPLAIN
